The Innovation Fund's new call for small-scale projects focusing is worth 100 million euros. It will focus on green technologies crucial to decarbonisation.

Following the success of the first and second calls launched under the Innovation Fund, the third call for small-scale projects launched by the European Commission and managed by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) has opened.

What is the Innovation Fund?

The Innovation Fund is one of the world's largest programmes for the demonstration of innovative low-carbon technologies, funded from the proceeds of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme's allowance auction.

Managed by the European Commission's DG Climate, the Innovation Fund will finance innovative technologies for renewable energy, energy-intensive industries, energy storage, and carbon capture, utilisation and storage, with the aim of contributing to Europe's sustainable recovery and supporting the transition to a zero-carbon economy by 2050.

Calls for this EU instrument are differentiated according to project size, with different opportunities each year for large-scale and small-scale projects.
