HERA presents a 1.3 billion euros budget to prevent health emergencies in 2023

On these days that celebrate the one-year anniversary of the European Health Authorities, the presented report focuses on preparedness capabilities related to medical measures to counter health threats.

HERA was first established on 16 September 2021 to strengthen Europe’s ability to prevent, detect, and rapidly respond to cross-border health emergencies, by ensuring the development, manufacturing, procurement, and equitable distribution of key medical countermeasures. Since then, it has provided fast solutions to fight health crises and has expressed a strong commitment to get better in the future by bolstering cooperation also outside the European Union.
