The EU approves new trade agreements with Chile and Kenya

EU Trade Agreements - Pexels, photo by Tom FiskThe first signatures of two new trade and political agreements with Chile and Kenya date back to last December 13, 2023, but only last week, on February 29, 2024 the European Parliament gave its approval during the Plenary session in Strasbourg.

AFA, ITA and EPA: three types of agreements in a nutshell 

Advanced Framework Agreement, Interim Agreement on Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement. Before getting into the characteristics of the trade and economic agreements the European Union made with Kenya and Chile, it is necessary to make a brief digression on what these agreements are.
