The call is part of a broader and more comprehensive European strategy to fight climate change via responsible financing. It includes six sets of actions:

1. extending the existing sustainable finance toolbox to facilitate access to transition finance;
2. improving the inclusiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and consumers;
3. enhancing the resilience of the economic and financial system to sustainability risks;
4. increasing the contribution of the financial sector to sustainability;
5. ensuring the integrity of the EU financial system and monitor its orderly transition to sustainability;
6. in the end developing international sustainable finance initiatives and standards
