In a fast changing market environment, the standardisation of language services is an essential requirement for outcome quality in terms of correct form and content, and for better communication between stakeholders in the translation process and industry. This online workshop will present some basic ISO standards for translation and language services such as ISO 17100:2015, and will act as a forum for the exchange of ideas and best practices between translation professionals, academics, companies and standardisation bodies in Greece and Europe. The workshop will provide an overview of the matter in Europe, focussing in particular on the role to be played by legal translators. The 2023 edition of the ECI Day, organised by the European Economic and Social Committee and its partners, will focus on the skills that organisers need to make their initiative a success - in relation to the European Year of Skills.
