EU: Youth4Cooperation Cross-Border Ambassadors
Second Intake of Youth4Cooperation Cross-Border Ambassadors. Objective The Border Focal Point Network, an initiative by the European Commission's DG REGIO, is thrilled to announce the second edition of the Youth4Cooperation: Cross-Border Ambassadors programme. This project empowers young people from the EU and EFTA countries to shape the future of border regions through dynamic cross-border cooperation. Eligible criteria To be eligible to become a Cross-Border Ambassador, participants must be between 18 and 30 years old, live in an EU Member State or EFTA country, be fluent in English (another EU language being an asset) and have a genuine interest in cross-border cooperation matters. Benefits Networking: As an Ambassador, you will connect with European youth, professionals, and leaders from various European border regions, as well as representatives of European Institutions, expanding your professional and social circle. This exposure is invaluable for personal and professional growth. Skills development: Ambassadors will develop a deeper understanding of cross-border cooperation by being involved in several activities of the BFPN. They will be at the forefront of organising & participating in events and discussions, engaging with the BFPN community and beyond. This hands-on experience hones crucial skills such as leadership, communication, project management, and problem-solving. Working with the European Commission: As an Ambassador, you will contribute towards the implementation of EU Cohesion Policy through regular meetings with European Commission officials and group projects with your fellow Ambassadors. Your contribution will have a concrete impact on citizens’ daily lives, helping to shape a more cohesive and integrated Europe. Ambassadors will have the chance to express their opinion on crucial topics for cross-border cooperation and contribute to our common European goals. What it means to become an Ambassador? Ambassadors will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, including: Video & Article Testimonials: With our support (i.e. materials, tips, advice), you will be able to share your thoughts across the BFPN’s social media platforms. Active Participation in the Beyond Borders Breakfast Debates Series, providing valuable insights and perspectives. Engage with your local community on cross-border issues. Join monthly calls with DG REGIO representatives and BFPN team to catch up on their activities and have enriching discussions. Personal invitation to attend the ‘Youth for Future Cooperation’ event organised by DG REGIO in Brussels on 15 November 2024 Feature in the BFPN Monthly newsletter and Social Media channels Recognition as BFPN Ambassador with a certificate from the European Commission Collaborate on a possible group project with your fellow Ambassadors. How to apply Applicants shall submit a 1-page motivational letter outlining their motivation, background, and interest in joining the network, as well as a video testimonial of no more than 3 minutes explaining their cross-border experience, connection to the subject, and one issue they have observed & wish to improve. Successful candidates will be selected based on: Engagement/motivation in cross-border cooperation; Innovative thinking and problem-solving; Communications and Engagement skills; Commitment to EU Values. Timeline The deadline for application is 10 September 2024. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply promptly via EU SURVEY and join us on this exciting journey.
