The Monetary and Fiscal Policy Mix in a Changing World

On Thursday 6 February 2025, DG ECFIN will organise a workshop on the topic "The Monetary and Fiscal Policy Mix in a Changing World". The event will be held at the Charlemagne building, Rue de la Loi 170, Brussels.

This full-day event will feature high profile speakers and discussants from academia, policy institutions, international organisations, and the private sector. The workshop will be divided into two sessions:

• The first session will explore the various concepts of the equilibrium real interest rate, aiming to understand how this crucial but unobservable variable is evolving.
• The second session will focus on the appropriate fiscal-monetary policy mix, considering the renewed focus and increased academic interest in this topic in recent years.

The event will conclude with a policy panel discussion featuring leading experts.
