European Day of Persons with Disabilities 2024

The 2024 edition of the European Day of Persons with Disabilities conference will take place in Brussels on 28-29 November 2024. Hosted by the European Commission in partnership with the European Disability Forum, this annual conference aims to raise awareness and address challenges faced by persons with disabilities. It aligns with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities 2021-2030.

The event will feature debates and discussions with policymakers, experts, and disability advocates. It coincides with the implementation of the second phase of the European Strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities, following the European elections in June. The conference will explore strategic objectives and policy proposals for the next five years, covering topics such as employment, independent living, and transport.

The conference will also include the Access City Award ceremony, celebrating its 15th anniversary, which honors EU cities making efforts to become accessible for persons with disabilities. Discussions will focus on accessibility, inclusive digitalization, urban transport, and sustainability.
