It is well known that the European Union and the world in general are facing one of the most serious energy crises ever seen in history. For this reason, it is necessary to make collective efforts for good energy saving, but also further steps forward towards a sustainable energy transition.
In May 2022, the European Commission presented REPowerEU, a plan which aim at saving energy, producing clean energy and diversifying EU energy supplies. According to the Directorate-General for Energy of the European Commission, the plan can be financed with almost 370 million euros with funds available under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) loan envelope, additional grants under the RRF, revenues from the Emission Trading System (ETS) allowances auctions, voluntary transfers from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and from the Common Provisions Regulation (CPR) funds, but also with private investments.
