The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has published the call for the selection of the consortium tasked with implementing the KIC Water, the new EIT Knowledge and Innovation Community dedicated to the theme of "water". An interesting opportunity also for Italy, which currently does not host any of the headquarters of the other EIT KICs.
The publication of the call follows the evaluation criteria, published by the EIT in the summer, for the selection of the consortium called to manage the new KIC Water. This is the tenth Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC), thematic communities through which the European Institute of Innovation and Technology promotes innovation in strategic areas for the future of Europe.
Since each KIC federates entities from all sides of the so-called "knowledge triangle" (business, research, and education), the creation of a new Knowledge and Innovation Community involves the selection of a consortium including partners from these sectors, to whom the creation and management of the KIC will be entrusted.
Regarding KIC Water, the goal is to bring together innovators from the marine, maritime, and water sectors in an institutionalized European partnership that addresses the most urgent challenges for innovation ecosystems in the water sector by commercializing innovative solutions and nurturing talents and start-ups. The call for the identification of such a consortium has just been published by the EIT.
