Global Gateway Strategy: 300 billion euros to build connectivity partnerships and boost trade and investment
The Global Gateway, delivered through a Team Europe approach, aims at tackling the most pressing global challenges in line with the commitment of the G7 leaders from June 2021: from fighting climate change, to improving health systems, and boosting competitiveness and security of global supply chains.
The Global Gateway Strategy results from the general political objectives of the EU, which are defined collectively by the Team Europe, which consists of the EU institutions, Member States, European financial institutions working together with European businesses, governments, civil society and the private sector in partner countries.
Actions and principles
Between 2021 and 2027, Team Europe will mobilise up to 300 billion euros of investments in high-quality projects around five different key areas:
- Digital technologies: strengthening connections between Europe and the world, helping partner countries address the digital divide and further integrate into the global digital ecosystem.
