4 new calls for proposals to support investments in 5G facilities across EU

The European Commission has launched the second set of 8 calls for proposals under the Connecting Europe Facility Digital programme. Four out of eight calls, with a budget of 75 million euros, focus on the implementation of 5G facilities and on the improvement of backbone connectivity infrastructure across Europe.
The context of the calls
The calls come under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), a trans-European network which, together with other funding instruments such as the Recovery and Resilience Facility and InvestEU, supports an unprecedented amount of investments devoted to safe, secure, and sustainable high-performance infrastructure<
