The European Research Executive Agency (REA) is calling for experts to join 7 different technical groups that will work on the implementation of the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS) programme. The deadline of application has officially been extended by the European Commission and now professionals can submit until 30 November 2022.
RFCS is an EU funding programme supporting research projects in the coal and steel sectors working to tackle climate and environmental-related challenges providing technologies in support of coal regions in transition, optimizing the utilization and conservation of resources, energy savings and industrial efficiency improvements and studying new ways to reduce emissions from steel production.
This programme works in line with the European Green Deal aiming at the decarbonization of the energy system and in July 2021 a modernization act approved by the EU Institutions enable the fund to obtain part of the assets of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) in liquidation, that are now solely devoted to resea
