Digital Europe: new calls worth over 122 million euros to invest in AI, digital technologies and skills

A "REEM-C" robotThe European Commission opened the first set of calls for proposals under the 2023-2024 Main Work Programme of the Digital Europe Programme to strengthen digital technologies and competences across the EU worth over 122 million euros.

Digital Europe is the dedicated programme that expresses the EU commitment to the digital transition. This first round of calls foresees a budget of 122 million euros that will be distributed in different areas, from artificial intelligence-based solutions to strengthening semiconductor expertise.

In particular, this round of investment will cover the area of building confidence in the digital transformation, with 32 million euros for projects related to a Network of Safer Internet Centres that will help minors tackle online risks and enable citizens to anonymously report online child sexual abuse material.
